Be Merry, Be Bright
The JFS Bright Holidays program began more than 20 years ago as a giving tree at Graland Country Day School. Every December since then, the holiday spirit spreads throughout the community and people’s hearts, as the program flourishes each year.
Stocking Shelves and Fighting Food Insecurity
Shelves are stocked with staples, refrigerators are filled with dairy products and meat, bins are full of fresh fruits and vegetables, and three days each week, staff and volunteers are ready to welcome shoppers at the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Food Pantry. Clients can visit the food pantry two times per month.
Making Connections Over Lunch
If you stop by the Perlmutter Room at the Denver Jewish Community Center (JCC) during lunch, you’ll hear laughter and snippets of conversations, but, most importantly, you’ll see older adults making connections while enjoying a hot kosher meal. Every Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., those over 60 years of age are invited to join fellow community members for lunch.

If you are caring for or are concerned about an aging parent nearby or long distance, we invite you to attend Caring for Your Aging Parent, a free virtual monthly drop-in support group for adult children on the first Wednesday of each month, 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

The ACE Program Is on the Move
In early November, JFS sold its SHALOM Denver location, which is where we offered support services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities—like our Arts and Community Exploration program (ACE). The ACE program moved down the street from the JFS office and is now located at the Calvary Baptist Church.
