Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have to be Jewish to use your services, volunteer, donate, or work at JFS?
No! Jewish Family Service provides comprehensive services to individuals and families of all faiths, races, ages, gender identities, sexual orientation, incomes, and abilities. We welcome volunteers, donors, and employees from all backgrounds as well.

How do I get started with your services?
Contact our Central Intake Specialist at 720.248.4701 or centralintake@jewishfamilyservice.org. You may also fill out this form

Does JFS charge fees for its services?
We offer many services to clients at no charge, including many of our employment services, parenting groups/workshops, KidSuccess school-based mental health services, Weinberg Food Pantry, disability services, and some of our Aging Care & Connections programs. The services that do have fees (many with sliding-fee scales) are counseling, care management, and older adult in-home services.

I need help paying my rent or mortgage. Does JFS help with that?
Yes, we focus our efforts on preventing homelessness by providing individuals and families living on very low incomes with rent assistance, case management, and access to other supportive services.

For financial assistance there are specific criteria that must be met, and there are a limited number of application slots. JFS works in collaboration with other agencies throughout the state and we suggest also calling United Way’s Helpline at 2-1-1 for a list of other agencies that might be able to assist you.
