Why Melinda Joined the Legacy Society
The JFS Legacy Society is comprised of committed supporters whose efforts and generosity established this agency and ensured its growth and long-term sustainability. Melinda Kassen shares why she joined the JFS Legacy Society:
“When it came time to consider the philanthropic part of estate planning, writing JFS into my will and formalizing JFS as a beneficiary within my legacy gift was a no-brainer.
Decades ago, as a JEWISHcolorado young leader, I was on the JFS allocation committee and then the JFS Board. Later, I was on the advisory committee to help bring JFS to Boulder. I got to place the mezuzah on JFS’s door at the Boulder JCC when we dedicated the new building. I have always believed in JFS’s mission, and I appreciate how it has responded over time to meet the community’s and individuals’ needs.
JFS’s importance has only grown as the world and our community become ever more complex, with so many more stress points for families and individuals. I hope that my legacy gift, along with many others, helps ensure that JFS can remain strong and evolve so that it always responds to the community’s highest needs.”
