Group Volunteer Opportunities

The power of teamwork can provide significant benefits to our community. Jewish Family Service offers several flexible options for employee and group volunteer opportunities.

“Hope is in the Bag” Food Drive

Our “Hope is in the Bag” program is an easy, turnkey way to hold a food drive. Bright green reusable shopping bags are provided for participants to fill with nonperishable food items. Instructions and the current most needed food items for our food pantry are attached to each bag.

Assistance for Refugees and People in Crisis

Is your group looking to make an immediate impact in the community? Provide assistance to those in urgent need. Please contact us for specific guidelines. Ideas include:

    • Purchase food and fill Ziploc bags with the ingredients to prepare an entire meal.

    • Buy bulk diapers and rubber band them in packs of six.

    • Purchase and pack full-sized toiletry and hygiene items in quart-sized bags.

    • Assemble nutrition packs for transitional clients with foods that can be eaten on the go.

    • Purchase a 25 or 50 lb. bag of rice, and measure 2 cups of rice into individual quart-sized Ziploc bags.

    • Purchase and pack household cleaning supply kits for newly arrived members of the community.
