Faces of JFS 2018 Winter Soirée Honorees Announced
Jewish Family Service of Colorado (JFS) will honor David Asarch and Mindy Levy Peckar at Faces of JFS 2018 Winter Soirée, on Wednesday, December 12, 6:00 p.m. at the Hangar at Stanley Marketplace, 2501 Dallas Street #135 in Aurora. This event will celebrate the diversity of JFS clients while benefiting the life-transformative work of the agency. Community members are invited to pay tribute to David Asarch, who will receive the Yana Vishnitsky Leadership Award, and Mindy Levy Peckar, who will be honored with the Joyce and Kal Zeff Humanitarian Award.
The evening will include cocktails, international-themed food stations, entertainment, and a short program with award ceremony.

About the Honorees
David Asarch
Yana Vishnitsky Leadership Award
David Asarch is the Chief Investment Officer and a partner of Monroe Group Ltd. and its development partner Steele Properties LLC. Asarch oversees the underwriting, acquisition, development, and legal teams related to the affordable property management and development activities of each company. He received his BA from Middlebury College and his JD from Stanford Law School.
David has been involved with Jewish Family Service for almost 10 years. He currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. He has also been an active member of the Budget and Finance and Development committees and has co-chaired the JFS Executive Luncheon.
“I am honored to be receiving the Yana Vishnitsky Leadership Award,” says David. “Yana’s life-long commitment to community service is an inspiration to me. She is the reason I became involved with JFS. It is such an appealing agency to me because it is guided by Jewish values and serves all people in need, regardless of race, religion, or national origin.”
Mindy Levy Peckar
Joyce and Kal Zeff Humanitarian Award
After years of experience in commercial banking and commercial real estate appraising, Mindy joined J&B Building Company in 1995 in the accounting department. Today she is vice president and office manager and directs the company’s accounting operations. In addition, she manages several shopping centers, developed and constructed a 668-unit mini-storage facility, and oversees the company's sophisticated property management database system. Mindy earned her MBA from University of Denver in Real Estate and Construction Management.
Mindy has been a weekly volunteer in the Weinberg Food pantry for the past seven years and has logged in more than 900 hours of service. She currently serves on the JFS Board of Directors and has been active on the JFS Executive Luncheon and Reel Hope Committees.
“I love what JFS stands for and what it does for our community,” says Mindy. “Volunteering and helping people though JFS is an honor and a privilege. I love the pantry and helping all the people who come from so many countries to be able to eat and sustain their families.”
