Repair the World Colorado Service Corps members join forces with JFS Boulder

JFS Boulder would like to thank our two spring interns, Sophie Englezos and Ellie Steele, who were matched with JFS by Daniel Etter of Repair the World (RTW) Colorado. Sophie and Ellie were members of the RTW Service Corps, a paid, part-time program service and education program designed to help 18 to 29 year olds support Colorado social justice initiatives using a Jewish lens.

Sophie and Ellie took on a project that will be of use to the Jewish and broader community in the Boulder area by creating a resource for local area youth, who are under the age of 18 and looking for volunteer or community service opportunities. (See more information below.)

JFS Boulder staff loved working with Sophie and Ellie, CU students who bubbled with energy and fresh ideas. We look forward to continuing this partnership with RTW Colorado.

Looking for youth volunteer opportunities in the Boulder area?

Staff at the Boulder JCC and at local synagogues often get requests for ideas for young people who are looking to fulfill B’nei Mitzvah or school community service commitments. Repair the World Service Corps members Sophie Englezos and Ellie Steele spent two months curating a list of local service opportunities to help fill this need for a centralized list of opportunities.

The list can be viewed here, and it’s organized by topic. Please notify Tina at tkantor@jewisfamilyservice.org or 720.248.4608 if you have additional suggestions for youth community service opportunities or if you find outdated information listed.
