JFS Boulder volunteer gatherings

JFS Boulder held two volunteer gatherings in May. Fifteen volunteers, both new and veteran, attended. Volunteers and staff held rich discussions about their roles, JFS outreach, and the challenges and rewards of volunteering.

One dedicated Friendly Visitor volunteer told us she continued her visits for several years after the woman was no longer an active client with us, until her death last year. The volunteer became close to the woman’s family and recently returned from an out of state visit with her daughter.

All who attended consider JFS as a home for people who want to express their Jewish values through meaningful volunteer service. They are passionate about our work and want more people to know who we are and what we do. JFS Boulder staff will continue to expand our outreach to the Jewish and broader community about our services and our volunteer opportunities.

We will plan gatherings in late summer or early fall for additional Friendly Visitor quarterly gatherings with educational components and open discussions.
