Mental Health Support

JFS Boulder and MROC have partnered to offer mental health resource navigation support. Mental health resource navigation will be offered by JFS's Central Intake Specialist via phone at 720.248.4686 on Wednesdays from 10:30-12:30 p.m. and in-person at MROC on the third Monday of each month from 12-3 p.m. If you would like to schedule a time to meet in advance, please use this form.

Boulder County Crisis Counseling program

JFS and Community Foundation Boulder County have partnered to offer mental health counseling services to Boulder County residents affected by the Boulder wildfires.

The program offers 15 free individual or family counseling sessions and provides a pool of licensed providers from which to choose. The program is available for youth and adults.

Long-term mental health services

If you feel you will want/need more than 10 sessions, we encourage you to reach out to our team. 

JFS Boulder has received a recovery grant from the Red Cross to expand access to longer-term mental health services for those impacted by the Marshall Fire and Straight-Line Wind Event, as well as individuals who have secondary trauma attributed to their roles as first responders, teachers, and disaster recovery staff. If you already received 10 counseling sessions through the Boulder County Crisis Counseling program or believe that you will need long-term therapy, please reach out to bccc@jewishfamilyservice.org to inquire about availability of our staff clinicians.

Pause and Action Community Grief

Our community has been struck by many recent tragedies. When communities are faced with compounding crises, it can be helpful to take a pause and offer space for grief and healing.

JFS Boulder and the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience hosted a Community Pause Town Hall, led by a licensed clinical trauma therapist, viewers of this Town Hall will learn important aspects of stress and grief, as well as healing mechanisms and avenues for support.

Understanding Personal and Collective Impacts of Traumatic Losses

The community has experienced many layers of trauma and loss over the past few years. As the one year anniversary of the Marshall fire approaches we invite you to watch this Town Hall to “check-in” with yourself, understand how you can support yourself through the year anniversary and gather some important tools for support and resourcing for yourself and your family.

Understanding Disaster Stress

Are you not sleeping? Finding yourself overwhelmed? Frustrated and unsure of what's next?

JFS, the Town of Superior, Boulder County, and the City of Louisville presented two community-wide Disaster Stress online events for anyone impacted by the Marshall Fire. A panel of local experts shared information on recognizing signs of acute stress, supporting loved ones, accessing free services, and practicing self-care.
