Support refugees on their journey to a new life

Balusani

The JFS Refugee Resettlement program has seen an increase in the number of individuals and families seeking our support. As a placement agency, we are on track to resettle 175 individuals by October, with 103 refugees already arriving in search of safety and a fresh start.

This dramatic increase has created an urgent need for volunteers. We desperately need your help to support these newly settled individuals, offering guidance and friendship as they adjust to their new lives in Colorado. These are individuals like Balusani, who shared, "everyone cares so much, it was impressive, they have a lot of humanity in their work."

We're looking for compassionate volunteers to assist refugees as they settle into their new lives in our community. Two key opportunities allow you to make a meaningful impact:

1. Help Refugees Settle into Their New Homes

As a volunteer, you'll transport refugees and their belongings from temporary housing to their new homes. This on-call role includes unpacking, setting up, and ensuring the home is ready for a fresh start. Your efforts will help create a warm and welcoming environment, making a significant difference in their transition. Learn more and apply.

2. Provide Medical Transportation for Refugees

Assist newly arrived refugees by providing round-trip transportation to medical appointments. Volunteers will help get individuals to their appointments, check them in, and return them home. A car, a valid driver's license, and insurance are required, along with cultural sensitivity. Your support will positively influence refugees' healthcare journeys.  Learn more and apply.
