Volunteer with JFS Food Programs

Volunteer to help our neighbors shop with dignity to choose healthy, nutritious food like fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, eggs, dairy products, canned goods, and essential hygiene items.

Food Pantry Crew Member 

The Weinberg Food Pantry assists individuals and families facing hunger and food insecurity. For some, the pantry helps weather an emergency; for others, it provides supplemental food to make ends meet without sacrificing a family’s health and well-being. 

Sort and pack food, help clients select items, and assist with several other important tasks.   
 
Commitment: Flexible, preferably weekly or every other week. Mondays and Thursdays are behind-the-scenes stocking food and supplies from 10:00am – 12:00pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are pantry shopping days and assist clients from 9:00am - 12:00pm or 11:30am – 1:30pm. The last Wednesday of each month is from 3:45 - 7:15pm. 

Additional Requirements: Ages 16 and older to volunteer on your own. Ages 12-15 with an adult. 

Mobile Food Pantry Crew Member 

The JFS Mobile Food & Hygiene Pantry provides food assistance in areas of need for those facing food insecurity. The Mobile Pantry travels to Denver neighborhoods and housing complexes with high percentages of food insecurity and to community and recreation centers to reach those with transportation barriers. Join the Mobile Food Pantry Crew to distribute food to neighborhood areas where people have limited access to free and healthy food. While in the Mobile Pantry truck, volunteers greet and assist shoppers select food and hygiene products. Help bring a dignified shopping experience to those in need. 

Commitment: Weekly or every other week. Shifts are Mondays through Fridays from 10:30am – 2:00pm.
