Career Services Support – Guest Presenter
Are you passionate about helping others succeed in their careers? As a Guest Presenter for JFS Career Services, you’ll have the opportunity to share your expertise with job seekers, helping them build the confidence and skills they need to navigate today’s job market. Whether you prefer delivering formal presentations or facilitating informal roundtable discussions, your voice and knowledge will make a significant impact on clients’ career development.
We welcome guest presenters with expertise in various fields such as resume writing, interview skills, AutoCAD, Excel, customer service, emotional intelligence (EQ), AI, and more to guide job seekers in their career journeys.
Commitment: 1-6 hours per month. Volunteers can participate for an hour or two, or stay for the entire session if they’d like.
Additional Requirements: Background check and additional interview with staff required.
Job Fair Support
Join our Career Services team at Jewish Family Service to support our bi-annual job fair. Volunteers are needed to assist with interpretation, transportation, and greeting jobseekers at the event. This is a great opportunity to help individuals in your community find meaningful employment while gaining experience in a fast-paced, cross-cultural environment.
Commitment: Bi-annually during business hours for about 1-4 hours, depending on the task.
Additional Requirements: For interpretation: conversational proficiency in languages such as French, Arabic, Swahili, Dari/Pashto, Kinyarwanda, or Russian. For transportation: valid driver’s license and proof of insurance. For greeters: ability to communicate effectively with individuals, remain flexible, and adapt quickly to changing needs.
Vocational Program Support
Support the Digital Literacy and Administrative/Customer Service Vocational Training programs by assisting the vocational trainer with client enrollment, class setup, and graduation ceremonies. This is a great volunteer opportunity to make a direct impact on clients' professional development.
Commitment: Varies; typically assist during the first two and last days of a 7-8 week course.
