JFS partners with Justice Necessary for High Holiday Food and Hygiene Drive
Food and hygiene insecurity is all around us — from girls who miss school because they don’t have access to adequate personal care products to families who can’t diaper their babies to community members who miss work because they can’t afford toothpaste or soap — necessities that we take for granted every day that are not covered by federal programs like SNAP and WIC.
Justice Necessary works to imagine and implement systemic and sustainable ways to address hygiene poverty in our community. Together with its partners, like Jewish Family Service, it delivers personal care products to address immediate needs and create structures to ensure reliable access to essentials for our neglected neighbors.
During the High Holidays, now through Oct. 10, community members can help JFS stock the shelves at its Weinberg Food Pantry and Mobile Food & Hygiene Pantry by making a tax-deductible gift at jewishfamilyservice.org/highholidays or fill the barrels at their synagogue to unlock an $18,000 match from the Cushman Neal family and its Justice Necessary initiative.
Hygiene and food items can also be dropped off at the JFS office at 3201 S. Tamarac Dr, Denver, 80231. View the list of most needed items at bit.ly/jfs-hh.
