Hanukkah 2020 Candle Lighting with Rabbi Rick Brody
COVID19 continues to have an immense impact on the vulnerable population of residents of senior facilities---retirement communities, nursing homes, etc. Normally, Jewish Family Service sends its volunteer para-chaplains to join with Jewish residents at many of these sites for celebrating the holidays throughout the year. This Hanukkah, guests are not entering these settings--and congregating among residents is either prohibited or severely restricted.
In lieu of a live, in-person gathering, JFS offers this video--featuring Rabbi Rick Brody, the Baskin Jewish Community Chaplain (and his son, Adin), singing blessings and songs and lighting the Hanukkah menorah. Rabbi Rick is available to provide pastoral care to anyone in need of a rabbi for spiritual support to unaffiliated Jews (those not connected to a congregation) or those who otherwise don't have their own rabbi to call on.
Please feel free to share this video with others!
