"I absolutely love the great feeling I get from giving back to the community. I look forward to going in every week and working with such wonderful people. If you want to make a difference in someone’s life and your own, I highly recommend volunteering in the Weinberg Food Pantry at JFS."
Mindy Levy, Weinberg Food Pantry Vounteer
When you donate your time to the Weinberg Food Pantry, you become a partner in the fight against hunger. JFS provides fun and rewarding volunteer experiences that help feed the hungry in our community.
- Food Pantry Specialist
Volunteers play an essential role in food distribution, collection, shelving, and bagging. Volunteers make a six-month commitment to work one of several 3½-hour shifts on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, between 9:30 a.m. and 1:00. p.m. - Food Pantry Delivery Driver
Volunteer drivers deliver food and supplies to homebound clients once a month. Volunteers pick up a pre-packed box of food from the pantry and deliver it monthly to clients in the Denver metro area. Hours are flexible and the commitment is approximately two hours per month. - Food Pantry Sorter and Packer
Several times a year, volunteers come together on Sundays to help sort food donations and package food boxes at our pantry warehouse. Volunteers help with sorting on Sunday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to noon. - Passover Project
Help a local family in need celebrate Passover by delivering a box of kosher-for-Passover foods necessary to conduct a Seder. Volunteers spend approximately two hours delivering Passover Project boxes of food and supplies once a year on the Sunday before the holiday begins.
