The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Food Pantry - Providing Nourishment to the Community Since 1990

The Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Food Pantry at Jewish Family Service assists families and individuals facing hunger and food insecurity. For some people the Pantry helps them weather an emergency; for others, the Pantry offers regular supplemental food that allows them to make ends meet without sacrificing their family’s health and nutrition.

In order to utilize the Pantry, individuals and families are asked to provide documentation of income which indicates that they earn less than 185% of the Federal poverty level. First-time clients must call to set up an appointment. Pantry clients are asked to provide:

• Photo ID
• Proof of Income
• Proof of Address

Clients may access the Pantry 12 times per year during their first year as a Pantry client. In the second and following years, clients may access the Pantry 8 times per year. Those facing an acute crisis may visit twice per week; those needing some regular additional food assistance may visit once per month – or anything in between.

• The Pantry provides a nutritionally balanced supply of shelf-stable
food expected to last 3-4 days.
• Fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products and breads are almost
always available to supplement the canned and packaged foods
  that are provided.
• Baby food, infant formula, and diapers are distributed when available.
• Toiletries and other Supplies of Daily Living (SDLs) are offered when
  available.
• The Pantry serves as a site for food commodity distribution to
seniors through a collaboration with The Food Bank of the Rockies
and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP).
