How Could $10,000 Impact JFS’s Clients?
• JFS to have one KidSuccess therapist spend one day/week/36
weeks (school year) providing school-based mental health services
to low- and moderate-income, at-risk students, their families, and
the school community;
• JFS to provide 375 hours of homemaker services to 8 clients living
with HIV/AIDS or cancer every other week (or 4½ clients weekly);
• JFS to provide Group Home residents with twelve hours
of supervised activities a week/year including transportation;
• JFS to provide Jewish Disability Network members with twelve hours
of supervised activities a week/year including transportation;
• JFS to provide 18 families/year with the full-cost of one month’s
rent to enable them to remain in their homes (based on a
average rent of $550)
• JFS to provide approximately 50 children with Lunch and Learning —
an innovative summer nutrition and reading program (includes
11 weeks of lunches, 11 books to select and keep, and a new
backpack and school supplies.)
• JFS to provide 9 meals per month for one year for 139 individuals —
i.e. 14,976 meals
• JFS to provide one full-day a week of Citizenship training for one
year and assist clients with necessary paperwork to apply
for citizenship.
There are many other examples of how $10,000 could help JFS provide much-needed services to our community. The list is endless, as is the need.
