
One in four Americans live with a diagnosable, treatable mental health condition, but less than one third seek treatment. May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the JFS Counseling Center is ready to help. Licensed therapists are available to provide confidential counseling for a wide array of issues.
According to Stacey Weisberg, JFS Counseling Center director, “The loss of jobs, financial strains and family problems play a huge role in ongoing depression.” And, she says, “There are more and more people living in silence who suffer from mental health issues.”
In order to respond to the growing mental health needs in our community, JFS is offering a drug prevention parent training, a spiritual healing bereavement group, a new Grief Partners program, and free confidential mental health screenings.
